So to say the least Woyzeck is a hard play to wrap your mind around.
Early on I was interested in watching one man's decent into fractured madness. Are the character's the audience sees actually real or are they dark reflection of Woyzeck's mind? Images of broken mirrors, still water, torture, and blood. How do I redeem a character who is guilty of murder, or is he? Did society push him to the breaking point, tearing away his fragile grip on reality. In the coming months I'm going to try to solidify my vision to a concrete show.
